"Acharya" - A Global teacher's program in India.


“India is having educational crisis where 4% equals to 8 million children never start school and 58% of children equals to 74 million don't complete primary schools and 90% equals to 172 million children don't complete the school. Vishvet Foundation believing in the future of every child who can study harder. Every child needs a Teacher. We appeal to our foreign volunteers who are interested in teaching in Indian schools. We are warm welcoming you to join this program "Acharya" (Teacher in Sanskrit language) and make a change in Indian student's life."


Duration:  Up to one academic year in Indian School between July to next year April.


Eligibility Criteria


  • Age: Strictly for 18 years and above school teacher, university student, university professor, staff members, artist and some other special category will be allowed from Vishvet foundation
  • You can come alone or small group of 2 – 5 members of same university, school, company or any government recognized association
  • You should be willing to sign and abide by program’s code of conduct
  • Mature enough to travel and live alone
  • Your profile and field of interest should be matched with our criteria
  • Your work experience in similar field will give advantage to your selection
  • This program will be paid or unpaid from the hosting organization which you have to accept by signing the agreement for certain period of time decided by school management
  • You should be able to communicate in English
  • You should have sound knowledge of your subject
  • Hold your travel cum medical insurance
  • Police clearance certificate from your local Police department
  • Genuine interest in the culture of India



Program Description


  • Accommodation - Room and Board will be arranged by Vishvet Foundation into school hostel for free including food. In case there is need for room outside will provide by Vishvet as per your budget, food cost you have to born, we will try to arrange one time food at school premise.
  • Transport - Travel cost from home country to India has to born by participant. Local transport to/from nearest Airport will be arranged by Vishvet foundation, all internal transportation cost will be borne by participant
  • Support from Local coordinator - Orientation will be provided by Vishvet local coordinator, Support and supervision by Vishvet local coordinator
  • Teaching at school – Participant will teach to students in assigned school as per the subject and standard asked by participant. We will arrange the school and make schedule of teaching in school
  • Volunteer work - It will be an additional opportunity if participant is interested. We will provide placement with an organization in the field of: Art/Culture, Animal welfare, Education, Health awareness

Steps to Enroll


  • Register to our program by filling first inquiry form
  • Send us your filled application at least 10 weeks prior to start date
  • All rights are reserved for final selection with Vishvet Foundation
  • Sign the mutual participation agreement between both parties
  • Payment of administration fee of US $ 150 (non refundable) per participant to Vishvet Foundation
  • We will start all official documentation work
  • We will have a pre arrival orientation via video conferencing if required
  • In between we will be here to solve your all queries
  • Support letter for tourist VISA if required
  • Program fee including lodging and boarding, transport etc will be depend on location

(School teaching and Field work will vary from 10 to 30 hours per week as per the schedule of assigned school)
